We need real financial management and committed long-range financial planning.Ruskin offers a variety of louvers and architectural products to meet a wide range of needs. We cannot continue to levy maximum tax increases and pass overrides. There is a list of multi million dollar proposals and priorities being discussed i.e.: new public safety buildings, a refurbishment of Heights Elementary, and an expansion and/or refurbishment of Sharon High School. The biggest issues facing the town at the moment are financial. What is the biggest issue facing the town of Sharon at the moment and what can be done about it? We need to be working with the landowner and with a commercial developer to encourage a project on the Sharon Commons parcel as well as on the remaining parcels on Route 1. As you suggest, we are running out of options to broaden the town’s tax base. I am very supportive of a commercial development on the Sharon Commons parcel and this needs to be a priority. Is this project still a priority and what would you do to ensure the project moves forward? Or if you don't think it should be built, why? With the delays with Sharon Commons much needed revenue and commercial tax base increases have been delayed. I am confident the ZBA will protect the town. I would like to see this project get to the Zoning Board of Appeals and away from politics and special interest groups. The choice is more likely between a 40B, affordable housing development, and the current proposal. However, the choice is not be between something or nothing. I am against a development on what is known as Rattlesnake Hill. What do you think needs to happen to either move it forward or if you are against the development, to permanently stop anything from going in there? The Brickstone/Rattlesnake Hill development has been changed and delayed by many factors. Therefore, the real question is if the (residents) vote in favor of building the new public safety buildings how will we pay for them? I am the only candidate that has the financial experience to deal with this question. This decision is going to be made prior to the new selectman taking office. What is your stance on the $25.5 million proposed public safety facility? My background of 18 years in finance plus my time on town boards and committees sets me apart from my opponents and has prepared me to make better decisions as selectman. I see my candidacy at this time as a case where preparedness meets opportunity. The next selectman needs to be someone who understands town government and has the financial experience to make the best decisions. ![]() The biggest challenges facing the town at this time are financial and that is my expertise. I am running for selectman because I care about the future of Sharon.
